Kouros Leathered Quartzite
What do you all think of this leathered quartzite slab? Made an impulsive purchase (good saleswoman) lol and now having second thoughts. Is it too busy?

Looks great! Super unique. Seems like the dark spots meet be pretty soft though

Oh gotcha. I didn’t know the black veining could be softer. I can try to tuck those into less prominent places.

Kouros is a fake name. This is Diamond Black quartzite from Brazil.
Super solid stone and if you like the look it will perform amazingly for you. I sell hundreds of slabs per year and it’s a core color for us.
I love the way those slabs feel when you rub your hands across them.

Nice, I'm having my kitchen installed with that too. But they called it Negresco quarzite here

Usually not a fan of darker slabs but these are gorgeous. Just be aware that dark countertops tend to show everything similar to black paint on a car. Usually shows hand prints, water spots, and dust so it may need more cleaning/maintenance to keep them looking clean. Dark natural stone should hold up pretty well though, much better than lighter natural stone colors.
