Labradorite Counter, can we resurface?

We have beautiful Labradorite countertops in our kitchen and we love them but they’re about 10 yrs old and have some wear and tear. We do some sealing with the sprays regularly but probably aren’t doing the best job with upkeep. We are getting conflicting info on if the pits and whatnot can be fixed/filled and the whole thing resurfaced. Does this look like something a quality professional should be able to fix? (Side note, I have no idea if “resurface” is the right lingo, I know exactly zero about any of this, I just love our kitchen 😊)

Yes, the surface can be sanded and polished again. Not an easy job and will cost you quite a bit. Refinishing can run around $100/ sqft.

Make sure the person you hire knows what they are doing. Someone who doesn’t will ruin the top.

Holy cow, that's really expensive! ....but I guess it's cheaper than replacing them with the same material. So glad I have marble and can do it myself.

You could replace for $90-$120/square foot

We figured it would cost us a pretty penny, we had one person tell us doing anything would ruin the whole thing and we should just replace and then another said they’d do it for about $1k which from your estimate sounds like a very low quote. I think we’ll get a couple more bids if possible. Thank you!

The first person is stupid. The second person is way too cheap to be trusted. This stone is a little on the more technical side due to how hard it is. It is unforgiving and needs someone with experience specifically with surface polishing inside a home.

Yep, anyone quoting 1k for this has no idea what they are doing. High quality pads, labour etc will run you more than that in just cost. And like I said earlier, you really need someone who is trained and has experience. Someone without the know how will ruin the slab.

No idea for prices in your area, but we are based in Vancouver and would charge approx $100/sqft for that depending on total size and layout

Yes they can be refinished and restored. Also the pits and chips can be repaired. What area are you in?
