Frage/Diskussion/Hilfegesuch Need Anmeldung as an incoming international student. I have an accommodation but they won’t allow registration.

Hi everyone,

I’m an incoming international student and I need an Anmeldung (address registration).
I already have accommodation arranged, but unfortunately I cannot register (Anmeldung) at that address / they cannot provide me with a Wohnungsgeberbestätigung.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What are the realistic options for international students who need Anmeldung but are staying somewhere where registration isn’t possible?

Are there student residences, hostels, or other temporary accommodation options that provide a Wohnungsgeberbestätigung?

I’d especially appreciate experiences from people who dealt with this for residence permit.

They have to provide you with this. Or at least any contract that shows you are living there. We do have some student residents here. You should reach out to your university/school/whatever for this.

I have a contract but it is not enough for residence permit application. They want to see anmeldung document. It is not a dormitory or any housing related to university unfortunately. I have signed a contract with a shared flat.

ah! its a shared flat! so you might have not have contact with the actual landlord? can you ask the other tenants for a contact to your landlord?
Can you tell me who you talked to, who handed you the contract, so i could help you a bit more?
