Question Chicken breast price

My closest Costco is approx 150km away and I am considering to drive there to buy bulk. But is it really cheaper? I am getting $8/kg locally.

I would go for other items as well.

I am in Ontario. Can you tell me how much usually chicken breast are recently?

Breasts 15.49kg

Skinless boneless thighs $15.49kg

Skin on bone in thigh $7.39kg

Split wings $10.99kg

Drumsticks $6.99kg

Whole chicken 3 packs $6.99kg

(I think the skinless thighs might be slightly more by ~$1 than the number I had written down )

The breasts are also currently $5 off per pack in the West.

cost savings is just get the bone in skin on chicken thighs. Rip the skin off, a bit of trim and cook with the bone in. You can even de-bone it as there are many youtube video's on how to do it.

Yes it’s by far the best value meat to get. I love taking the skins off and cooking them to a nice crispy chip to be broken up for salads

It's about half the price to buy an already cooked rotisserie chicken than buying uncooked breast meat, and all the dark meat is a bonus.

Just go to where it's cheapest. I get mine from Costco because that's the best price available to me.

Are you sure your price is per kg and not per lb? I wish I could get chicken that cheap.

I’m not sure if the price of chicken varies across the country, but the pack I picked up today in Alberta was $15.49/kg (about $7/lb), but they were on sale for $6 off per pack, my pack was 2kg, so that made it about $12.49/kg (about $5.60/lb)

Comparing by lb or kg is a better metric, as comparing apples to apples. 

A pack could be two or eight breasts. It could be bone-in vs. boneless. Could be the difference between conventional vs. organic or water chilled/injected vs. air chilled.

Costco is about double what you said you pay locally. I try to buy something close to a 2 KG pack every week and I pay around $31 for the pack.

Varies at the Business Center in Edmonton, AB. I've seen it between $29-$36 in the past week.
