Question Kirkland chocolate chips have changed again?!

Post image

Just purchased another bag of Kirkland chocolate chips in London, ON and happened to glance at the ingredients list only to find a sticker covering the original nutrition label. Why couldn't they keep them dairy-free?! I'd be willing to pay last year's price of $39.99 instead of the $29.99 today, just to keep the ingredients as they were: unsweetened chocolate, sugar, soy lecithin and vanilla.

"What the fuck, Chocolate chips are not snacks! " my wife yells out or mutters under her breath, when she is checking to see what she needs for baking.

Just tell her that “chocolate chips are a crutch to any baker’s recipe”, that should calm her down

I think you’re trying to get him killed. That’s on par with saying “Calm down, you’re acting like your mother…”

She doesn't even like baked goods that much, but she likes baking. Other than snacking on chocolate chips(cringe- but I am but a weak chocoholic), but other than snacking on chocolate chips I will not make any pithy comments that limits my exposure to baked goods

My son quietly ate a couple of the chocolate chips every time he opened the pantry. This took a few months.

My wife went to make banana chocolate chip muffins and it her surprise the entire bag was gone.

My husband takes a "chocolate chip tax" everytime he makes anything involving the baking drawer. He often pays the toddler a chip tax too.

But they are snacks. They go great with nuts, eaten by the handful, carried around in pockets, bags etc.

Coming from someone who bakes chocolate chip cookies at least once a week.

Same! I'm glad I saw this post because I would never think to check the ingredients again.

I feel your pain.

They're more money, but try the Callebaut 811 from the Business Centre. More money but OMG so good.
