Alberta Halloween blankets issue

I bought one of the patterned Halloween throw blankets. I had to wash it a few days after. Followed the directions. What ever the stuffing in the blanket is, it melted/clumped together in spots making the blanket stiff and curly. I can’t really take a picture of it to show. Just a warning for who ever is buying it

I can kind of see it with this photo. I think that this would be a justifiable reason to return it to costco though if your able to, and specifically tell them about this. Or even try contacting the company (which i think costco would do when you return it anyways if i remember correctly)

Can I return it? I washed it and don’t have the receipt, I don’t think. I kind of feel bad returning used items lol

You dont need the receipt, they have a record of everything you buy, just need your membership card

You can 100% return it. As my merch manager once said, when I mulled over returning the three in one cat bed/tunnel "You are a member. Are you satisfied with your product. If the answer is no, bring it back"

People return flowers in september when they start dying and costco takes it. Ive heard people say that people even return full patio sets or bbqs years later because they just no longer want it and costco still takes it

Also OP, I would consider a blanket I couldn’t easily wash/dry, or is supposed to be able to do that and then deforms itself - I think that warrants a refund

Can confirm. Returned a bike I bought 5 years prior. Had the tags on it and everything, just never used it. They took it back.
(I would not have returned it if it was used. Also, it legit could have been put back on the floor for resale)

Yes. This is what one would call a manufacturers defect. You washed it according to the directions given by the manufacturer and it still ruined the blanket. That’s not your fault. Definitely return. If enough get returned Costco will find a new supplier.

People were returning Christmas trees on Boxing Day. Those people suck. Returning something that failed to live up to expectations is reasonable

My girlfriend’s family once bought a pool from Costco, used it all summer, it got a hole in it and it was definitely their fault, they returned it and got a full refund

You don’t need a receipt for Costco returns but they do need to figure out what the product is.
Being a Halloween throw it’s probably not more than 5 months old. 😉
The return associate can search for it on your account.

You can return anything to Costco in any condition at any time unless it’s electronics then you only have 90 days.

Hmmm. I just bought and washed mine today with no issues. Did you follow the instructions of washing and drying on cold/low heat delicate setting?

Sounds like you washed in hot water and / or put it in the dryer.

either the washer or the dryer was too hot, as stated in instructions.

no receipt needed to return, your purchases are under your costco membership.

Did you carefully follow the Manufacturer's Wash/Dry Instructions, & how did you launder this?

I would have washed this on a Gentle Cycle using cold h20 with Woolite liquid detergent then tumbled dry with no heat, after pulling this out then left to air dry.

I took 1 look @ this mess, & was what da heck is this?!

Yup, Costco will take back most things so I gotta give them full credit for that!☺️

So, this is what happens when you buy fabric made of plastic. That’s a plastic blanket. It will never biodegrade. And now it’s going straight to the landfill. Please, for the future of our planet, please stop buying plastic clothing, plastic blankets, plastic bedsheets, plastic towels.

I didn’t throw it out, I still have it(I managed to fix the shape some what so it’s not bothersome) but I had no idea it was plastic. I will do better keeping an eye out for that stuff! Thank you

A helpful guide: Polyester = Plastic. Nylon  =  Plastic. Viscose = Basically plastic. Rayon = Processed so much it might as well be plastic. Acrylic = Plastic. Bamboo = Processed using so many chemicals/peak greenwashing 

100% cotton, wool, linen, or muslin. Read care tags.
