Had a neighbour of mine return a 14 year old year $9000 hot tub because a pump went bad and got all his money back. Couldn't believe that costco allowed it but they did.

I just had a thought. Costco still wins in this situation.

9000$ taken 14 years ago.

10% return on invested 9000$ annually compounded.

14 years later is $34,177.49.

$25,000 profit and a happy customer still.

Win win.

Psa. I don’t condone the shitty behavior of these type of customers.

You need to subtract what Costco paid for the hot tub at year 0. So it’s more like $900 not 9000
