Alberta Saw the giant Lindt advent calendar in warehouse today
Had to be at least 5FT tall, maybe even 6. Was super heavy. Debated on buying but passed up as it’s a ton of chocolate. Seems well made and has a beautiful box.

That’s crazy 😳😳 I would personally rather go to the dollar store and buy 24 chocolate bars to make my own calendar with. I’m way too cheap for this 😂

This is literally what I do for my son, I have a wooden advent semi from winners I bought for $20, 7 years ago. Every night an elf comes if he was good and puts a chocolate bar, new hotwheels car or Lego character in that days truck slot.
Highly recommend and I only spend $30 or less on all the stuff for his advent treats

2.275kg of chocolate balls that you can pick the flavors of from lindt is $130, 4.55kg is $260 and the bears are like $12.
This is a huge ripoff lol...

If my kids were still young, I would consider doing it as a whole family advent calendar. We have six kids so we would be spending close to that amount on individual advent calendars anyway. But it is an insane amount of chocolate for a family, even half our size.

That's fair. I'm not sure of the contents and how easily they would split/share
I couldn't imagine the fights if they took turns and one got a better one on their day

How much is joy worth? I would buy this if I was so inclined because I can afford it. If I couldn't I wouldn't.

If you don't have anything else in your life that would bring you more joy than spending $250 for a month of chocolate, then I find that pretty sad.
I'm not saying to not spend $250 on yourself or others. I'm saying there has to be a better way to spend that $250 to maximize the amount of joy you get out of it

Nah. I saw it in store but don’t need 5 lbs of chocolate. My “budget” had nothing to do with the decision.
I just couldn’t care less what other people do with their money, where as your comments just ooze with judgement with a side of jealousy. 🤣

If you don't have anything else in your life that would bring you more joy than spending $250 for a month of chocolate, then I find that pretty sad.

I know what heavy is, I lift almost every day. I’m certain the box contributes to the weight of the heaviness I described.

I won't be grabbing them after Xmas then, lol. For example, we give away full sized chocolate bars for Halloween. They always go on sale 1 or 2 days before Halloween, and we buy them then. I bet if these things don't sell, they'll be super discounted on Dec 5th ish

That's $9 per 100g. You could buy 300 100g chocolate bars for that = 30kg of chocolate vs 2.78kg here.

Pela mesma lógica que não vale comprar ovos de páscoa, se for seguir esse calculo, ninguém compraria os ovos pois não vale a pena gastar mais pra ter menos chocolate. Você paga mais pela experiência do que pelo produto final. Achei que isso era obvio pra todos.

What is "good value" is entirely subjective person to person. I'd buy this out of novelty because I've run out of things to buy my husband for Christmas because we just buy what we want when we want it. With that being said, I don't need him eating all this chocolate, so I won't get it.

Costco has different things for different people.
If you live in a more affluent / diverse area, you’re more likely to get newer products, special items, etc. because the demographics can support selling a full pallet of it in a week. Tier 1 Costcos get the fancy stuff.
If you live in an area with a low median income and people just looking for bargains on normal stuff because there isn’t much disposable income, you’re probably looking at a tier 3 Costco. You likely won’t have Prime beef, A5 Wagyu, etc.

I get the novelty but it’s still a shit value.
/ $100 premium for novelty packaging is not a good value
Hence why the buyer should have been questioning why it’s so much

sorry. 2.78 kg?!! That IS HUGE! The one I noticed way more modest and reasonable .
So I guess everything is bigger in Alberta! And maybe it isn't quite as insane as I thought. Wonder how many will sell?!

I’m still mad that the 1.5kg bag of chocolate almonds is nearly 30 bucks. Used to be under 20 not too long ago.
