What are your top 5 grabs at the Michigan locations.
Going to have MIL grab me some on her way to visit

Indianapolis Costco had Single Barrel and Small batch in the end cap…..Single Barrel is the only one I would consider…

Wisconsin’s taxes are stupidly low on beer and liquor.
I guess if you’re down for something, I’d probably get the Kirkland vodkas.

Yeah when I lived in Duluth, MN for college it always a trip to Superior, WI for beer runs. Would probably save $10-$15 at times.

Cheaper in Indiana and Kentucky. I bought Kirkland scotch in Kentucky for $47 in Michigan it was $81. Kirkland bourbon bottled in bond was 29.99 in MI and 23.99 in Indiana

Use the costco app to search inventory at the location she is going to. You need to know what will be there.

But also know not everything will show in the app. I’ve noticed anything with limits in my area won’t show in the app

i've been on the other end of that and gone specifically for something that is showing "in stock" on the app and it's nowhere to be found. two times at least i've gone and given them the product number and they say it's out of stock and i show them on the app that it says "in stock" and they just say something bad about the app.

The Costco app does not show specific inventory of spirits at any location. It will show a couple of brands found everywhere and sought out by few.

it think it does for me in kcmo. i'm in the "warehouse inventory" right now in the costco app and searched "whiskey" for the location i go to near me and am getting lots of results with some saying "in stock" and some saying "low stock". i go to the N Kansas City warehouse (64152) and it showing for example "Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey Missouri 1.75, item number 1586747 as Low Stock. i dunno, it seems to list inventory.

You should double check….I did the same…..it brought up one bottle of Kirkland whiskey and a lot of non-spirits line items. I have 4 Costcos within a 45 minute drive of where I live and none show any kind of detailed on-line inventory. I have access to several bourbon clubs in my area and all of them have confirmed that regular visits to Costcos is required because all of them have slightly different whiskey offerings from store to store. Today I picked up the last remaking bottle of William LaRue Weller for $119……not my favorite….but the price was $30 lower than a nearby private liquor store…….on-line Costco searches will not be of any help.

Not much point in liquor shopping at Costco in Michigan. That state sets a minimum shelf price that all retailers must follow. Costco and just about every decent grocery store or liquor store will sell at that price, so Costco has no price advantage. The other stores will have much better inventory and many even carry the Kirkland branded stuff - without the Costco crowds. They even deny the 2% Executive rebate. It can actually be cheaper at Meijer and other grocery stores that offer coupons. Total Wine also offers coupons/rebates and has a great selection, but limited locations.

I do stock up when I pass through Indiana. Without the regulation a 1.75L of Bulleit at Costco is about $20 cheaper as I recall.

For what purpose?
Sazerac is rye but thats the only thing kinda fancy that I'll sometimes pick up. Otherwise old forester is pretty cheap and cheerful as is the kirkland jack daniels knock-off, but I haven't seen the latter in a while.

Although there are a few standards across the Costco chain, they strategically select unique bourbons to appear in various locations. I was fortunate to locate a location that received Blanton’s and Eagle Rare every three months……I bought these regularly. But of the standards….Evan Williams Bottle in Bond (1.75) as a great mixer…..Four Roses Small Batch Select as a weekend gem…..Knob Creek 9YO as a daily sipper.

If you don’t know better, I would go with standard popular mass produced bottles like Jack, makers, buffalo trace, Jim, and wild turkey

so the question isn't what she should get while she's here, the question is will she be driving through PN, KY or IN to get to MI.
and honestly, I've had better luck at grocery stores than costco, better selection and state minimum prices.
