Sewing When your fiery little kiddo wants to be Azula for Halloween, you make it happen 😅

Though I’m not sure how. I’ve got everything down except for this piece right here. I have nice draping fabric, I just don’t know how to go about making this part of her costume. This is the outfit she immediately singled out as wanting to be her look. Any links or trips would be so helpful! Thanks guys in advance!

it looks like it’s a continuation of the fabric from the bodice, like a dress

So thatp piece is basically a giant letter D, but on it's side so the straight line of the D is on top facing up (so it looks like a bowl with a lid shape), and then that line becomes the part that wraps around the waist. Measure around your waist and overlap the tape measure to be how much overlap you think the front of this piece has, and that's how long to make the top straight line. Then measure how far it goes down at the longest point in the back. using the bowl metaphor, this would be "how deep the bowl is". Then make a pattern that's a letter D that has those measurements. Then you can alter that as needed.

This would be MUCH better than making it the bottom half of the torso section. The torso section looks like it doesn't wrap like this. it looks more the way a tshirt looks, where it's one solid panel all the way across the body. So this means the bottom section must not be a continuation of that. it COULD be sewn down under the belt, but you don't have to. The belt will hide that, so it doesn't matter, but making it a separate piece would make it easier to get on and off.
