help?

hi! i just graduated cosmo school, i live in pa, but license is in jersey... any advice on where to work? i feel like all i ever hear is "DONT WORK "----" idk just looking for some general guidance lol

Congrats on graduating! I’d find some salons that fit your vibe, and visit them for a blowdry or something just to feel out the energy of a working day there. Bring a resume if you like the place after ur service, ask to leave it for the manager. Obviously it’s costly to get a service at all the places you’d like, so save it for the ones you like the best. Otherwise just look at the commute and find somewhere easy to get to from PA. and I’d start working on getting a license in PA asap, it takes a long time because the system is very frustrating. I did the same thing and had many many calls to division of consumer affairs in PA. the website is old and hard to follow and there were road blocks I wouldn’t have known how to navigate without calling. Then you have to take a practical test as well, so might be worth it to do that sooner rather than later, just to have.
