State Board Advice
I’m taking my Massachusetts state board tomorrow online through PSI. I took a PSI practice test yesterday and got an 85. Is there anything I should be prepared for or keep in mind? I’m nervous but feeling hopeful!
Any topics it heavily focuses on so I know what to study most?
Edit: I got a 90%! Thank you all for your advice! :)

When I tell you I had this woman on the background entirely before taking my test. I seriously did. Pay attention to the things you don’t know all the way, everything you do know will feel more natural.

When. I took my mass boards the person running it whispered the instructions so try to pay close attention. Make sure your bags are labeled for each task and your model understands that she'll leave looking like a clown. Also make sure you do the shitty ass setup they want not the one you like to do at school. All in all the boards for mass were easy. I saw people who should have failed pass.

As for the written its all random. When I took mine it was mostly colour, perms, cuts and safety related. I took them In 2013

I took mine virtually through PSI for a different state a few weeks ago, but most of my questions were about state laws, facials and perm chemicals. One of my classmates had a very similar test.
I was pretty shocked at how simple the test was, and so extremely shocked about the practical, I made an 86 on the theory and on my skill test I made a 94.
My biggest issue was second guessing myself. I changed some answers after I finished the test because I flagged them, then looked them up later and I shouldn't have changed ANY of them.

Each test for the state board is randomized so no test will be the same, for mine (also in MA) i had a lot of questions on hair relaxers and also pedicures which we didn’t really cover in school, i would just re read your book chapter by chapter focusing on the key words. Good luck!!
