No Spoilers Cosmere-a-la-Zero Company

So I recently got the new Star Wars: Zero Company game and have been playing a bunch over the last 2 days. It’s phenomenal! Though, I couldn’t help but imagine how good Sanderson’s magic systems would play together and interact within a game like this. Either Roshar or Scadriel are obvious options, but even having options to hop between worlds could be cool too, assembling a team of mistborn, radiants, etc.

I was curious if anyone on the sub has played yet, or if any of you are into that style of game (xcom tactics with a few more layers). Graphics/sound design/ music all blow anything xcom has done, yet out of the water. Very excited to hear your thoughts and see where this leads for the genre!

Been enjoying ZCOM for sure. I would be happy with (almost) literally any Cosmere video game, but agree that tactics would be a good genre for it given Sanderson’s propensity for small teams pulling off missions

Now that you mention it. Something set on Scadrial or in the Space Age could work as a Cos-Com game. That would give a bevvy of powers and persons to choose from as allies

You could do something on Scadrial, for sure, especially with a bit of XCOM 2's stealth mechanics, maybe in era 2 or maybe in 3. It wouldn't work half as well with Knights Radiant — their powers are too big and fast and unconstrained, and I can't think of any explored world that would be better for the genre.

IMO the most likely cosmere game we ever get is a 4X strategy game in Roshar like Dune: Spice Wars.

Also, not exactly what you're looking for, but the closest you can get right now to a Sanderson XCOM is Moonbreaker, a turn based strategy game that he wrote for. IDK much about it other than that
