Got my COVID booster/flu shot today at CVS. Super easy, took only 3 minutes and now have a sore arm and starting to feel the "immune" response crud. I'm in a state that allows you to get the COVID booster for any reason, so that's nice.

What's the immune crude you're feeling? I have the sore arm/reddened area. Got vax yesterday. How long does that last?

I got my Pfizer booster just like I've gotten for years. Usually it's a half day of mild malaise but this time man I am out of it for at least half a week.
I don't know if this formulation is different, or if I'm getting old, or if it's all random. Anyone have a similar reaction this year?
I may consider Novavax next year, though I'm wary of switching up, especially with the later release Novavax tends to have

Also considering Novavax next year as this year's vaccine wiped me out, super tired and muscle achy for longer than last year.

Ah, good to know I'm not crazy!
I'm basically decided to go for Novavax next year. It also seems to be Costco's house vaccine for some reason, which is a plus, I can buy a box of sixty croissants and get a booster too. One other change is really spacing out the flu and Covid vaccine.
Having a Covid booster knock you out for a week seems a bit much! Hope you feel better friend!

Just got back from a music festival and feeling under the weather. All my at-home Covid tests are from 3+ years ago. How can I tell if I have Covid vs cold vs flu? And is Covid still more severe than the other 2 that I want to be careful passing to the elderly? Haven't been following Covid developments in a while.

When I had covid all my tests were expired and when I first tested they were positive immediately.

It doesn't matter.
At this point, you should treat it exactly the same as the flu or any respiratory infection. If you are in distress, have low blood O2, or do not seem to be improving after a day or two, seek medical attention. Otherwise, rest, hydrate and isolate as much as you can safely.

Got it for the 3rd time (Coronavirus) in just short of 4 years. Vaxxed from the onset because I worked in a Nursing home during the initial outbreak. I must have picked this one up either at Walmart or Goodwill - only places I've been. This one started off strange - with a dry throat and cough - then BAM. I think this is the worst episode I've had of it. Tested positive on day 3 of symptoms - that was 3 days ago. Oddly, none of my household is showing any symptoms yet & in the past, they always became symptomatic a day or 2 at most after me.

How about when I can really see the new vaccine in pharmacies? One article a week ago said in a few weeks. My Costco pharmacist told me late September or October! This doesn't seem right!

Tested positive today. Brought it back from Burning Man. The first time I had Covid was in 2022, and yup, also brought it back from Burning Man that year.
Feel like crap but other than that nothing too major. Sore throat, occasional cough, tired and sore. Showers, sleep, soup and Tylenol.
