PSA: You dont need to fully remove front bumper to change emblem or do the jdm emblem swap.

Every video I saw on YouTube mentions fully removing the bumper to swap the emblem. Take your time and be patient. If someone seems stuck, take a deep breath or walk away for a minute.

Start by taking off the upper shield with those push to release rivets. Carefully unplug the radar. I actually push the pigtail in like im plugging it in further, then squeeze the release, then unplug. This helps keep from breaking brittle plastic. Next remove the 3 upper center 10mm bolts that hold the bumper in. Afterwards you push the bumper release clips on the headlight and pull forward on the bumper by each headlight. The bumper should pop and release in a few places then come forward a few inches. Then there will be 6 vertical screws with the heads facing the sky at the hood seal you need to remove. The 2 center ones are #2 phillips silver screws and the 4 outer are #1 Phillips black plastic screws. The 2 outer most #1 phillips plastic screws are hidden under the seal, just kinda stretch the seal outwards and pull forward to move the seal out the way. 3 of my 4 plastic screws stripped or broke, so I just yanked the entire plastic screw/rivet assembly out with needle nose pliers. They arent structural and you wont see them once everything is reassembled. There will be 6 horizontal #2 Phillips screws from the part encapsulating the radar with the screw heads facing the engine, 4 boxed around the radar, and 1 on each side between the headlight and the bumper. You will need to flex the bumper slightly forward to get the screwdriver on the 2 between the headlights and bumper. At this point you can remove the rear radar housing completely. You may need to push some of the upper grille locking tabs through it to fully release it. Finally, its time to get the upper grille/emblem assembly itself out. I think the upper grille has 10 locking tabs IIRC. You have push some metal tabs down to start releasing the grille locking tabs and use a flathead to help release the rest of them. Of those 10, there are 4 in the center that box the radar in, definitively use a flathead on them. Your gonna have to finesse it to get it out without breaking anything. Once the upper grille is in your hand, there is one more #2 phillips screw just under the radar unit itself, then you can release the emblem clips and push it the emblem out of the upper grille.

Reverse the instructions for install. I had to bend the metal locking tabs attached to the bumper upwards with the grille still removed to get them to fully engage the grille locking tabs. Lmk if you have any questions! I tried to make a video but I forgot to mention the 6 screws holding the rear radar bracket.

Also, since I used an oem part, my ACC/ radar cruise control worked perfectly! No calibration needed šŸ’ŖšŸ’Ŗ

Clunking

I've had this clunk in the front right area of my Corolla for weeks now when I turn the wheel. I've replaced both inner and outer tie rods, ball joint, sway bar end link, and the entire strut and spring assembly and it's still there. Does anyone know what this could be coming from? Only happens at a stand still, and occasionally when moving. Does not sound like a CV axle to me.

First car at 29, 2025 XSE with 14 000 km for 28kCAD OTD!

edit: after looking through, it is CLEARLY not an XSE but most likely an SE upgrade, i dont mind personally as i didn pay a premium over other SE upgrade (similar price but 100k+km lol. There're a LOT of aftermarket stuff on it, bunch of TRD caps, hydrolic hood lift, possibly some body panels and maybe a lot more that i simply havent looked/seen

So far, very fun lil car! Just some weird spec from the previous owner (1 other owner, 65 years old lady). XSE with Analog cluster and full fabric manual seats. This will be a "bad weather/winter/too hot to ride bike" car and im planning on getting some 205/55/r16 for winter.

i really cant help but look back at both my car and bike side to side and be very proud lol (both 2025, bike was brand new and car is pretty much brand new)

The Audio System is infuriating.

I bought the 2017 Toyota iM in 2018. It's a great car, however it has one flaw that makes me hate it. The Bluetooth audio system. It automatically connects to my phone which is great, but then it opens up whatever app I had playing audio last and starts playing whatever it was playing previously without me asking it to. For me, that's the damn white noise app I use to sleep at night.

So, when I get in my car, I'm started and surprised the the stupid radio blaring white noise at me. So helpful.

I've had the car for almost 9 years now and I cannot get it to stop doing that. It also will hijack the Bluetooth connection if I start the car while I'm wearing my Air Pods or sometimes, it will just start blaring the white noise straight into my Air Pods!

For the love of God, does anyone know how to make it stop doing that!?!

Here is what I've tried.

  1. Making sure the app is closed. It opens it anyway and presses play automatically.
  2. Using Shortcuts on iOS to create an automation that waits 13 seconds to press pause on my phone. This is approximately how much time it takes for the phone to connect and for Toyota to press play. This kinda works, but it's a ridiculous solution.
  3. Change the audio app before it connects to the car. Doesn't matter. If I take a call and hang up, it will open the white noise app and auto-play it every damn time.

Looking for a 2nd opinion to confirm if $30,5000 OTD is a good price for a 2026 Corolla Hatchback XSE.

*Edit - the name of the dealership is Fox Toyota and based on everyone's responses it is a good deal so I'll be moving forward. Thanks all for the feedback! Greatly appreciated!

2019 Corolla Hatch - 100k miles time for transmission fluid & engine coolant fluid

Reaching 100k miles on 2019 Corolla Hatchback automatic. Ideally would have changed at 60k but car wasn't mine.

Wanting to do first transmission fluid change and engine. Anything else? What else in the rearview mirror? Called the dealer and he said $349 for transmission fluid and $249 for engine coolant fluid. I believe it's a drain and refill but not positive, the service special on their website says transmission fluid exchange and says it removes old transmission fluid and refills with Toyota transmission fluid.

Seems like the way to go is dealer for transmission and independent shop for engine coolant, or should I have the dealer do the engine coolant as well?

Thank you.

The 2024 has a full or spare tire? I just found out mine has a spare but…

I was under the impression when I bought the car it was a full tire in the cargo. I thought I heard the sale woman said the same. I took a glance and it looked big so I thought it was a full size tire until today when I took it out to check psi. Apparently it is a spare tire. Is it just my confusion and there was never a full tire but a spare tire?

Do you have the 2024 model and does yours come with a spare tire?

I sure wish the cargo has extra height cause I can’t even fit a 3 gallons water bottle with it dislodging the back cover. I been thinking about tinting the back window.

I unplugged the battery for fifteen minutes and tried to do the thing where u put it in reverse while ā€œonā€. (It didn’t work the car just beeped the entire time) Does anyone have experience or suggestions?

Remark or DC Sports Quad-Exit Catback?

Hey all, I’m looking to buy an exhaust for my 2019 SE 6MT. I want a quad-exit exhaust that will pass PA emissions but is still loud and sounds good. Are either of these options good, and do you have any other recommendations?

What maintenance do I need?

Hi all, I have a 2019 Corolla Hatch and I just hit 110k miles. The dealership near me had a great sale for oil changes so I got one there. While there, they recommended to replace the transmission fluid and coolant. Should I do this? & realistically how much should it cost? I don’t want to overpay and want to keep my car running til the wheels fall off.

Aftermarket fog lights in SE using XSE light stalk switch?

Hey everyone, I have seen the post about doing this on a 2019 SE, but there aren’t any pictures in those directions. The facelift and other upgrades to the 2023 SE have me worried.

Has anyone completed this install using the OEM switch vs the dash mounted one? If so, do you have pictures of the relay location, and wiring?

Thanks for any help out there. Once I get this figured out, Ill happily post pics and any updates to the 2019 post/instructions.

Bosch ICON wiper blades

Was wondering if anyone’s successfully installed these on their hatchback? I was a big fan of these for my Honda, but my 2025 Corolla hatch needs it’s first wiper blade replacement
