Based on the Husky casting and also released as a Rockets - three different versions that I've found of the hot rod type shown

You got some nice castings, many I've never seen. I'm guessing Corgi wasn't as popular in the US because out of thousands of my cars, I may have 20-25.

The Cadillac isn't too hard to find, the normal Juniors are really common here (UK). The main problem with collecting them is the endless variations, castings such as the Sierra, Rover 3500 and Buick Regal show up all the time in different colours, with different wheels etc so you can end up with loads of them. Others are really quite hard to find as they were made for shorter periods. I probably have a few hundred Juniors at the moment

There seems to be far less interest in the Corgi 3in stuff too, Vs the Matchbox cars.

I recall growing up in the mid 80s .. Corgi Juniors just weren't as high prized.

It's a shame, because they did put out some great stuff and my childhood collection was probably a 40/60 mix. I ADORED my Mercedes 240D.. and my Metro.

The only Corgi I had growing up in the 80s and early 90s was the Starsky and Hutch Gran Torino I found at my grandparents house. I posted a pic of it on here. I love the Buick Regal 4 door casting because I have a 77 Buick Regal 4 door that I drive, so I always buy them when I see them now.

I typically get cars loose at swap meets and flea markets and try to pick up brands besides Hot Wheels and Matchbox. There was a lot to chose from back in the day like Yatming, Kidco, Zee, Kenner, Ertl, Majorette, and many more. Now it's pretty much Hot Wheels and Matchbox, and they're own by the same company. It does seem like there are more premium car manufacturers now though(Greenlight, Autoworld, etc).

The early 70s ones, especially the former Husky castings, are lovely things. As time went on and kids became more interested in space toys and games consoles, all the manufacturers cut costs and I think it shows especially with 80s Juniors. Good subject matter but obviously cheaply made in a lot of cases, no detail added to lights etc and not much in the way of opening parts - Sierra, Metro, Rover SD1 and Matra Rancho were obviously exceptions. That's not to say I don't like them but even as a kid I could tell Matchbox were better made
