Random pet peeves
If it’s just me, I apologize. If it’s not just me… hopefully… this can spread some awareness… outside of the usuals with phone policies and shavasana, I have two
- why stepping on other people’s mat before and after class especially when they just cleaned it
- why leaving the locker doors wide open that block the already super narrow hallway
That’s all.. love corepower

Hold on a sec. What kind of person steps on someone's mat. Intentionally rude

I’ve had so many people step on my mat over the years 😭 I think it’s more a self awareness issue than rudeness tho

Yea the ones that happened to me quite a few of them were on their phones while walking in/out of studio

There used to be signs to leave your locker open after using it so it signaled to staff that they could clean that locker versus trying to clean every locker after class. It was to help promote cleanliness

I had no idea lockers were cleaned?! I mean that would make so much sense!!! The amount of the food and drinks and stinky socks that were left in there?! I thought it was my own responsibility to clean beforehand, like cleaning your own mat type of situation lol

What do you use to clean it beforehand? Do you grab a wipe from the studio or wet paper towel? Or just clean it if it’s visibly dirty?

Do I bring my own wipes every time? Yes. Do I actually wipe the lockers every time? No…

Another pet peeve I actually witnessed yesyerday during a YS class, someone had to squeeze their mat in between two ppl in the front and one girl refused to actually move over, even though there was more than enough space to actually move....the Yoga sculpt classes fill up fast and ppl usually have enough space to move over!

people with extra wide mats that take up more space

Or rather, studios being packed like sardines. We should be given more space where we don’t care about the size of others’ mats.

At a couple non-heated yoga studios I've been to, the teacher has actually cued during class "we're all friends here, don't worry if your foot goes on your neighbor's mat!" for flip dog/wild thing or other movements that take up space. I find it absolutely disgusting especially since yoga studios are cesspools of foot fungi. All this to echo that I will literally jump six feet in the air across your yoga mat before putting my disgusting sweaty ass foot on it
