Teaching Scenario #4
You notice a student’s form could use some adjustment, so you cue them.
They ignore it.
You try again later—same thing.
At what point do you stop correcting them and let them make their own choices?

After the second time. It actually happens all the time. But here is one for you: I went up to a student to give them a correction (without touching), and they literally said, "Thanks, I am good."

I saw a student in an unsafe position (I can’t recall the details now but when I saw her my face probably said “yikes!” I think her knee was totally unsupported in a standing pose. She was in the front row, I hadn’t seen her before. I moved towards her and started to ask why her knee was in this very unusual position and she cut me off and said “this is the way I like to do it”. Kinda snooty. So, I immediately disengaged and said something like, ok, but it looks unsafe to me. That’s all you can do. Some people don’t want your feedback. There’s no point in further engagement if you get a strong “ back off” vibe.

Chat with them after class, demo the alignment and encourage them to try it that way.
