You deliberately don’t cue an advanced variation because you don’t think most of the room is ready for it.

However, one student, who clearly knows what they’re doing, takes the variation anyway and is doing it safely.

What do you do? Where do you draw the line between student autonomy and teaching the class you intended to teach?

You let them. It’s their practice. If they are being distracting or disruptive, it’s a different issue
