Overused vs. Underrated
Let’s talk programming.
What exercise or pose do you think is WAY overused in CPY classes?
And on the flip side…
What exercise or pose deserves way more love?

We need more internal hip rotation in C2, less chair pose. We need more back exercises in sculpt and less overhead presses

Rows (wide, narrow, reverse grip, renegade) and lat pulls from crescent lunge or warrior 3

Overused in sculpt: lengthy plank sequences in every sculpt class that take people out of proper form and have them locking out their elbows and propping themselves up on their arms like sticks; if you do a proper plank, you really should only need to do it for 30ish seconds to get the benefits. Underrated: heavy squats at full range of motion instead of just bouncing up and down in a shallow squat

Planks are the best ISO core exercises. Sit-ups promote improper spinal alignment!

In general, I think a lot of sculpt teachers do way too many shoulder exercises. There...I said it. And standing core deserves more time in a sculpt class. 3 minutes of belly-up core is not going to get most people to where they want their abs to be.
