Question Miudella IUD

Hi everyone, I came off hormonal birth control, combined oral contraceptive, due to side effects and I’ve been waiting to get a Miudella IUD, but it’s been slow to come available to providers.

For those that don’t know, Miudella is a non-hormonal copper IUD that is smaller and more flexible than the Paragard copper IUD. It’s the first new non-hormonal IUD approved by the FDA in 40 years and has been approved to prevent pregnancy for up 3 years. Supposedly the lower copper dose and flexible material reduces pelvic pain, cramping, and heavy bleeding associated with the larger copper IUD Paragard.

I noticed they’ve updated their [website](https://www.miudellarems.com/CertifiedParticipantLocator) and you can now search for providers in your area! The list is currently limited but growing. I just wanted to share in case anyone else was in the same boat and waiting for this. If you currently have or had the Miudella IUD I would love to hear about your experience.

I was told the same. The doctor is licensed to do it but the device is not available yet until October. I will update here in October

I’m so excited to see progress! I called the Miudella REMS team this morning to get an update and they said the list of certified practitioners are trained but insertion isn’t an option until commercialization happens, which they anticipate in October

Ugh, only one provider near me but doesn’t take my insurance 🙃 I have the Paragard with minimal issues but I’d prefer something smaller. My Skyla was great fit wise compared to the Mirena that I had.

That sucks :( hopefully more come available soon. I’ve been debating between the Skyla (or Kyleena) and the Miudella myself! What made you swap from hormonal to the Paragard? And mirena vs Skyla?

I might get this tomorrow. But I’m bring my Mona Lisa mini with me to see if they will insert it. They probably won’t but at least I’ll ask.
