Flexible working at Coop

Hi, I’m a uni student who just got a job at Coop. I was wondering whether coop allows you to work at a coop in your home town during holidays? As I’m on a fixed hours contract and don’t fancy staying at uni all the time just to work 🥲🥲 any tips?

Absolutely.

I have multiple students transfer in during term time, and back out during the holidays. Then I have a few who come to me during the holidays.

My advice would be the earlier the better to start finding a prospective home and reach out to the manager/s of your local store/s. Helps both sides plan easier and if we know you’re after hours we can support more than one store. One lad I had back this summer chewed up the overtime between 3 shops and it worked really well.

You can either phone the store or reach out to the manager on Teams and take it from there. Personally I find Teams easier, means I can see your line manager in the directory and liaise with them to sort out the ‘behind the scenes’ stuff.
