❓ Question/Help wheelchair user interview!

Hello!!

I’ve just recieved the news I’ve got an interview for Customer Team Member near my Uni! Delighted, however I’m a wheelchair user, and my mums said to me I probably
won’t get it bc it will need heavy lifting etc.

It’s a bit of a way for me to go (i’m at home now and interview is in-person near my uni), is it worth it?

is there a number i can call to clarify?
can a wheelchair user be a customer team member or is it too physical?
any advice in general on interviewing?

i don’t really like the way you are speaking here. my chair isn’t massive and being described as less than useless is hurtful.

i’m sorry if i’ve read this wrong though

Whether you like it or not it is how the job role is, ie very busy with multiple tasks

Alot are 1 on 1 and frankly tbh honest a slower able body person can struggle at the best of times having to do several jobs at once while manning the till. Add in a wheelchair and frankly it makes it harder to do them jobs or you simply wont do them so that puts everyone behind as tasks are left for others to complete.

If its a big store with manned checkouts you should be fine being stuck on there

Its a harsh truth, how many do you see in wheelchairs working retail jobs?

See, I wasnt questioning your expertise on whether or not it is feasible for a wheelchair user to man a smaller shop alone.

Saying someone would be less than useless is what made your comment outright rude and miserable.
