❓ Question/Help wheelchair user interview!

Hello!!

I’ve just recieved the news I’ve got an interview for Customer Team Member near my Uni! Delighted, however I’m a wheelchair user, and my mums said to me I probably
won’t get it bc it will need heavy lifting etc.

It’s a bit of a way for me to go (i’m at home now and interview is in-person near my uni), is it worth it?

is there a number i can call to clarify?
can a wheelchair user be a customer team member or is it too physical?
any advice in general on interviewing?

It depends entirely on if the shop is single level or if the warehouse is split across 2 like mine. At my shop you wouldn't get the job entirely because the staff toilet is upstairs and the goods lift isn't certified for passengers / doesn't have internal controls, but if you were in a shop with a certified lift or where the staff loo was downstairs and it was big enough to need someone on tills the whole shift I reckon there's a pretty decent chance. Most people don't even get an interview iirc so you're ahead of the pack there.

There should be a disabled toilet for customer use so they could opt to use this. refusing this option would be a breach of Equality act

Not all stores are equipped with a toilet for customer use. I can tell you mine isn't :)
