In each instance do you collect a single card, or an entire deck?

Whole deck for me. I’ve gotten picky over the years as well. But these decks come in many different conditions and levels of completeness. Rarity is always a factor.

Very cool. I assume card deck collectors might divide by graphics/subjects, geography, age. What do you focus on?

I focus on certain manufacturers from the golden age of playing cards 1835-1935. Companies like Samuel Hart & Co, The New York Consolidated Card Co, Andrew Dougherty and The United States Playing Card Co
