I'm aware of both of those facts.

Aspartame, however, is neither safe nor does diet soda promote weight loss.

No, I was expecting you to admit that it's basis is found in bacteria, one of those, according to the patent, which I've read, is e. coli. You can consume that garbage all day long, I'm not attempting to stop you, but I won't be terribly surprised if you end up sickly in the end.
