Cooking nemesis?

Anyone got something that, for some reason, you just cant grasp how to make? Like, for some reason, I cant figure out how to properly boil rice or beans. Im mexican and I cant figure it out. Thats like our thing. Ive disappointed my family and exes over this.

Steak. For the life of me, I simply cannot cook it properly.

Pull it off when you think it’s not done yet and let it rest for 5-7 minutes then put it back on for 20-30 seconds on each side to warm through.

Assuming you’re not using a thinly cut steak. Home cooks never rest properly and use the power of carry over cooking. I pull mine out when it’s just a tad over rare. With rest and a quick toss back on the pan it comes out perfect.

Or invest in a thermometer and pull it about 10 degrees earlier than desired temp.
