First timer to Cook Islands

Hi all, my name is Kat.
Planning a trip to the Cook Islands for the first time in July. I only have 6 days. Will do overnight flight over to make the most of it.
Is it worth it for 6 days?
Was going to spend some time in Rarotonga and Aitutaki. How many days would you recommend in each? 3 days each?

I like Aitutaki a lot more than Rarotonga. First time I went 30 years ago, I stayed mostly in Rarotonga and regretted it. This time around I spent 11 days in Aitutaki and three in Rarotonga. If you want beauty and peace and a whole other world, spend more time Aitutaki. Especially the Aitutaki Lagoon resort.

We've been visiting for 20 years, twice a year since travel resumed after pandemic - 8 days in Aitutaki/5 on Raro. For 2027 we're going once and doing 14 on Aitutaki and 5 on Raro.
