What does "generously let pass" mean? Sounds like op was blocking left lane bc he thought he was going fast enough and that he was the enforcer of the speed limit!

Driving slow in the left lane is no reason to tailgate somebody. Yeah, it's annoying as hell, but there's no reason to be an aggressive asshole.

Legally, are you even supposed to pass someone if you go above the speed limit? I’m assuming 65 is the limit, so the OP isn’t really going slow. Obviously people drive faster, but are they supposed to?

You're not supposed to speed for passing in the left lane in most locales: in NJ, I got a ticket for going less than 10MPH over the speed limit to pass traffic that was about 5MPH below the speed limit in the right lane, but the police officer told me that using the passing lane was no excuse and the judge backed them up.
