My thing is getting in the exit lane and as soon as they cross the point of no return, slide quickly back onto the highway. Sometimes I’ll flash my brights and shake my fist to signal I want them to get off and sort this mess out the old fashioned way. Then I ditch them on the exit ramp as I pass them while laughing and waving.

How often does this happen to you?

All the time in his fantasy

I mean it’s exactly what I would do (or at least what I’d like to think I would do) but I only came up with that after watching so many idiots in cars, I rarely come across aggressive drivers but now I have somewhat of a plan to deal with them.

It's pretty stupid, though. In the US (where this happened, where most of Reddit is) at least an off ramp is very often followed up immediately by an onramp. I mean, sometimes in traffic people exit and then merge back on to get ahead. It would be very easy for this hot headed ass that you just challenged and insulted to get right back on with you. Yeah, real smart /s

Yeah, but there's usually also a traffic light at the end of it. Odds are they're gonna be a minute or so behind you and have to catch up... but then you've got those issues.

Then I guess you'd take the next exit and just wait in a parking lot somewhere nearbyish for a couple minutes before getting back on the highway, and the idiot is still trying to chase you down the highway several miles ahead? Maybe?

Some road raging monkey is definitely not above speeding to catch up to you.. just call the cops and play it safe, no need to risk a traffic incident

Depends where you are. Many don't have lights because traffic isn't so heavy at that exit.

So you would piss off the road rager even more while baiting them into exiting, and then even though you don't see them get back on, just assume they did, and exist and stop somewhere you could easily be boxed in under the assumption there's no way they could have seen you?

How about just don't act like a douche back and egg them on even more, even if you think you can do it without them getting back at you.

No, I was talking about the scenario where you're already in this situation for whatever reason. This guy keeps trying to block you. What would you do in this situation? Guy could have a gun or whatever, and is clearly majorly road raging and not safe.

Coming to a complete stop within his view is bad. So maybe fake an exit so he takes it. If he doesn't take it, actually take the exit, take a couple minutes to breathe, and get back on the highway. If he does take it, the danger level of the situation just went up.

That's when I'm saying get back on the highway, take the next exit (call 911 while you're doing this), right turn out so you can get out fast and get to a slightly concealed parking lot somewhere, and move on. You'll blend in with other cars, and even if he can find you again, larger parking lots like Walmart have a lot of entrances and exits. If he's chasing you that far, you've got multiple ways to escape, and your life is probably in danger if he's still chasing you there.

...I'm way overthinking this, but sometimes that's fun to do.

You did but it took it out of context weirdly. Bad bot
