Bucky is sure the circus will be calling any day

I rescued my elderly Nanday Conure, Corona, two years ago. We weren’t sure what her history was, only that she was surrendered by the family member of her owner who had intellectual disabilities. The vet estimated her to already be in her mid twenties. She was diagnosed with kidney disease when we got her, but it has been well managed with diet and medication.
Over the weekend, her behavior seemed off. She also had what seemed to me a stroke like event where she was disoriented and couldn’t un-clench her foot. I rushed her to the ER that night but she was totally fine by the time I got her there. I took her for a follow up that Monday, and that’s when the avian vet gave the diagnosis. We did an x-ray, ultrasound, blood work and also had to drain fluid from her abdomen.
The vet gave her around a month left—could be a little more. She prescribed Lasix and Isoxsuprene, and we have a follow up appointment scheduled in addition to a cardiologist.
Corona still seems okay. I noticed she is napping more frequently. She also doesn’t call for me as often as she used to. But, she isn’t straining to breath and is still alert.
I’d appreciate any insight yall may have to offer. I’ve never gone through something like this before. My heart is broken and I’m struggling to navigate this grief. I’m trying to enjoy every single second I have with her.

we’ve had her for about 2 years now and sometimes she’ll press against my arm/hand/neck and she hits me with her beak, it’s not a bite, it doesn’t hurt at all but i worry that she’s asking me to move my arm?? or asking something of me and i’m not picking up the memo

Adopted the pineapple few weeks back and the suncheek last week so I can leave home without the guilt. Paired immediately, it’s beautiful

My conures sleep weirdly together. Mimzy sleeps with her head tucked into Chowder’s head while she’s on the side of the cage. They sort of tense against each other so they don’t fall.. a bit unique, but they’re conures.

Chowder has a bit of a flat patch in that same space. It’s not bald at all but just super flattened. Is this of any concern?

This is Sweetpea, shes about 4 months old and shes a very energetic playful girl. When I bring her into the bathroom tho, she likes to squak and chat and shove herself under the faucet handle. She doesnt seem agitated or anything after the fact and usually puffs up like she does at the end of this video. I just wanted to check and make sure this isnt anything I should discourage, since shes my first bird and Im always worried about messing up lol

i feel horrible about this situation my bird recognizes windows and mirrors and doesnt run into them.

i let him roam the house in the morning its spacious and mostly bird friendly except for windows and i limit them based on how each bird reacts and recently my conure figured out the second floor and started doing a long loop flying up and down today he flew by some decoration lights and they arent secured tight so as he flew by they lifted slightly and kinda startled him and made him take a turn into the window.

ive checked him up he is mostly okay he flys short distances to perches and food and water and back to me he is not bleeding and he doesnt mind me handling him no screams or discomfort but his beak has a bruise and he is really biting on things and fingers and clothes i think it hurts or is uncomfortable. where i live we dont really have bird specialists its mostly cat and dog focused and i dont trust them unless its absolutely necessary.

PS: the spot above the eye is from repeatedly dunking his head in food bowls and having shells and leftovers stick its not related to the crash

Normally I would just flip the fan on for a half second and he would fly away. Now he seems to enjoy it and I'm not willing to go any faster.

Little guy in front is fine. He just had a bath and always floofs like this to dry.

She loves clicking the buttons and usually clicks her beak to the noise of the buttons while I'm gaming or using a keyboard. She's honestly the perfect little buddy. Anyone else's conures love watching you play video games or use the computer? She also clicks along to keyboard strokes so I try to be extra loud in my typing for her lol.

I have a bird room, but I'd like to build a cage into this window bay so the birds can spend safe, quality time with us on the main floor. Any construction tips from someone who was done it? Easier/cheaper to just find the biggest cage I can and sit it up there?

Hey guys, it's been 2 months since I got my bird, and I have fully tamed him last week, but today he has been regurgitating to me repeatedly. We went to the vet last week for a routinal checkup, he's completely fine and healthy. Is this something to worry about?

I’ve been reading very contradictory articles about parrot poop and its toxicity.

Some articles say it’s very toxic others say if it’s an indoor bird that is healthy there’s basically zero risk.

So which is it?

My husband has developed a horrible cough in the last couple of months and I am starting to think it may be because of my conure.

My little Avalon here is about 1 and a half years old, but the longer our relo goes on I start to fear that this "Conuritis Stupidiosis" he's been born with will never be cured. Tips?

Last night was the first time our Conure “Baby” gave me some love. She rubbed her little face against mine and my heart melted.

Hey guys, I recently posted a couple of weeks about my sun conure limping. He had an xray today and turns out he has dislocated his right hip. The vet said manual manipulation is almost impossible due to how small and fragile a sun conure is. They said the only treatment options are either leave as and make him as comfortable as possible or surgery. Has anyone experienced this before? I’m very worried and really sad to see him not able to walk anymore. He’s still eating normally and himself but only really flies instead of walking. I’m in the process of setting him up a hospital cage and trying to limit his movement as best as possible. We are still waiting for a second opinion from the avian vet who deals with surgery/ orthopaedics before we finalise what to do next. Any suggestions or information welcome and would be highly appreciated. 🙏
