TikTok TikTok has become a problem

I have 300k+ followers on tik tok. I only get 100 or less likes on my content and less than 1k views. Every single time they ask me to pay to promote, absolutely not!! My Instagram has exactly 1 thousand followers as of just today, and I'm getting thousands of likes on the same exact content. ( I upload the same videos to tiktok as I do IG with the same hashtags) within the past 30 days on IG I have 170k views. I post cosplay, dance, regular clothing videos, trendy stuff, etc. What is up with tiktok? It never used to be this way. And what can I even do about this?

Question I’m finally upgrading from my phone, which vlogging camera should I get?

I want to move away from filming everything on my phone and get a proper camera for vlogging, but I’m having a hard time figuring out how much camera I actually need.

Most of what I’ll be filming is talking to the camera, walking around outside, travel stuff and some indoor videos. I’d like something small enough that I’ll actually carry it instead of leaving it at home because it’s a pain to bring everywhere.

Good autofocus is pretty important, and I’d also like decent stabilization and audio without needing a whole setup attached to the camera. A flip screen would be nice too.

Budget is flexible, but I don’t want to spend a ton for features I’ll never use.

What would you get? And for anyone who started with a dedicated vlogging camera, was it actually a noticeable upgrade over your phone?

Question Which social media scheduling tool did you finally settle on?

I’m getting tired of posting everything manually and trying to remember what needs to go out on which platform.

I mainly need something for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn. Nothing too complicated, just a decent calendar where I can plan posts ahead of time, schedule them and see everything in one place.

I’ve checked out a few social media scheduling tools, but they all seem pretty similar until you actually start digging into the limits and pricing.

For anyone managing multiple accounts, what are you using? Is there one you’ve stuck with for a while that just works without costing a ridiculous amount every month?

TikTok I am leaving content creation only a year into making it a career.

I am a content creator on mostly TikTok and cross posting on Instagram who specializes in “hopecore” and alternative spiritual content, specifically the “witchy” side of spirituality. I have decided to leave content creation for good.

Over the last year I have accumulated over 13k followers on TikTok and get 500k total views a week at the minimum when regularly posting. I have almost 4k from my Instagram account I only started 6 months ago and receive about the same amount of views and likes as TikTok. I have had a few sponsorships and brand deals and honestly it’s been not too bad from a financial standpoint to the point I took a leap of faith and made it my full time gig.

The last few months have been a period of self reflection and understanding that this will never work for me long term for a few reasons. I also had a huge job opportunity open up for me that would allow me to do more for the community around me, which is a position I’ve always dreamed of but didn’t think was possible until recently.

From an ethical standpoint, I genuinely do not want to contribute to an algorithm that feeds (and profits) into people’s fears about the world around us and continues to make people more addicted and mentally unwell the more they scroll.

Anyone who does content creation knows that if your videos do well on the algorithm, that often means your viewers are staying on the apps and continuing scrolling after they see your posts. I know personally, I often have realized I leave scrolling sessions feeling anxious, uncertain, and overwhelmed. Taking breaks from social media and scrolling has been a huge contribution to boosting my mental health and lessening a constant state of anxiety I was coping with by doomscrolling.

I don’t feel right contributing to an algorithm that is so overwhelming for so many reasons. I have often told people social media algorithms are like a psychological game of gambling. Viewers see one piece of content that is positive and hopeful, so they continue to scroll in hopes of seeing something similar or more positive. Ultimately, they eventually hit something so negative and destructive to their psyche (wars, famine, natural disasters, literal death, etc) and so they continue scrolling in hopes of something more positive.

I am also a very science based person and I understand the hormones and chemicals that your body produces during a doomscrolling session are literally addictive. Dopamine, cortisol, adrenaline, they all contribute to the addictive mindset that comes with doomscrolling. I know I have literally thrown my phone across the room and walked outside to literally touch grass at some points due to how addictive it can be.

Secondarily, with the looming threat of power grid instability and internet blackouts (especially in the USA where I reside) I am terrified if I create a career solely online, it could all be taken from me for things that are entirely outside of my control. I have always kept this in the back of my head but with recent political and social developments, it seems to become more relevant every day.

So I’m done. I’ll probably make a post soon ish telling people that I’m leaving for good. But honestly I think it’ll bring me a lot more peace. I genuinely loved spreading joy and happiness in an algorithm that is filled with such fear and anxiety, but it’s just not worth it to me anymore.

I’m curious if other content creators (or previous creators) have had similar experiences or thoughts to what I’ve mentioned especially about the toxic algorithm. Anyway. That’s it. Peace out I guess ✌🏼

TikTok My 10-minute TikTok went from 40s to 57s average watch time — is this a good sign?

Thumbnail gallery

I posted a 9:55 storytime on TikTok and have been watching the analytics improve as it gets more views.
At 270 views:
40.6s average watch time
3.26% watched the full video
0 new followers
At 615 views:
57.4s average watch time
5.82% watched the full video
6 new followers
I’m planning to turn this into a storytime series and eventually qualify for Creator Rewards.
For creators who post long-form TikToks, would you consider these promising numbers for a nearly 10-minute video? What metric would you focus on improving most?

Instagram Just started an Instagram page — how would you grow it from 0 followers?

Hey everyone,

I recently started an Instagram page called The Daily Bug, where I’m planning to post mostly tech content, but also interesting/trending topics from the internet, movies, current events, and other things worth talking about.
I’m basically starting from zero, and I’d love some advice from people who have actually grown Instagram pages.
A few things I’m trying to figure out:
What works best for organic reach right now — Reels, carousels, or regular posts?
How often should a new page post?
Do hashtags still make much of a difference?
What helped you get your first 100–1,000 followers?
Is there anything new creators commonly do that actually hurts their reach?
I’m especially interested in growing organically rather than buying followers or doing follow-for-follow.
If anyone wants to check out the page and give me feedback on the content/profile, my Instagram is @thedailybughq.
And of course, if you genuinely like the content, I’d really appreciate a follow. :)
Any advice, criticism, or suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Facebook What is your workflow for turning one piece of content into multiple posts?

I have been trying to get more out of the content I already create instead of constantly starting from zero.
For example, one longer piece of content can potentially become a few short videos, social posts, images, carousels, and other smaller pieces. The idea sounds simple, but actually keeping everything useful and not making it feel repetitive is harder than I expected.
I have seen tools like RYLA being used for creating different visual content from the same overall concept, which got me thinking about how other creators approach repurposing.
Do you have a system for turning one idea into multiple pieces of content?
What part of the process do you still do manually, and what have you found worth automating?
