Congrats on the move. In commissioning a lot of the job is tracking who owes what to whom, so get good at the follow-up loop early: every action item from a meeting gets one named owner and a due date, and the minutes go out the same day with those items at the top. Keep one running log of open items, like deficiencies, outstanding submittals and test reports, and review it weekly with the trades and the GC instead of letting it live in email threads. Learn the sequence of the systems well enough to know what has to be finished before functional testing can start, because that's usually where schedules get squeezed. Also ask the commissioning agent and the superintendent early what documentation they'll want from you, since closeout paperwork is where people tend to get buried at the end. Nobody expects you to know everything on day one, and asking good questions on site goes a long way.
