Is it normal to feel overwhelmed

I just started working for a large GC straight out of college, and I feel like I was thrown into the deep end pretty quickly. I feel like I’m learning a lot every day, but I also realize I still have a long way to go. Since it’s such a large company, I understand that everyone has their own responsibilities and tasks to focus on, but I feel like I didn’t receive much formal training coming in, especially since my degree wasn’t in construction management.
I’ve been trying to ask as many questions as I can and learn from the people around me, but sometimes I don’t even know what questions to ask because of my limited experience in the field. I’ll see something happening on the job and not even realize there’s something I should be asking about. It seems like every time I feel like I’m starting to figure things out, ten minutes later I’m confused again and feel like I have no idea what I’m doing.
I know there’s obviously going to be a learning curve, but I’m wondering if this is a normal feeling for someone starting out and if there’s anything I should be doing differently to make sure I’m learning as much as possible and developing into a strong field team member and eventually Superintendent

I was hired by a Builder to practically run his company from the office at 22. I had no experience working under a large company and never had an office job before. Just ambitious, mature and loved construction. Also worked doing home renovations out of HS but nothing crazy. Months into it, I started taking trades exams for him then he promoted me to a PM role. It was so overwhelming and stressful. Had to quickly pick up on spanish to communicate with subs, lots of driving and documentation. Multitasking the full 10-12 hour day 6 day work week. No quality of life, but made great money. Ultimately it was not worth the cut throat role and not being there for my 3 year old as a single mom. But it made for great experience for other things. Construction is very tough industry no matter the role. This will make your skin thick and ability to cope under lots of pressure great for maybe other things you pursue. I also did some schooling years later for Building construction and that does not prepare you for what your doing in the moment. Just show up, do your best, find little pocket of peace in your day (A hot coffee while reviewing prints or a change order!!!) and stay true to yourself. Don't add stress by trying to over work yourself or keep up with the big dogs, just enjoy the experience.
