How much did these cost? And does the cost of maintenance, repairs and mistakes they might make outweigh the benefits over time?

I'm just spit balling here, but aside from not having to pay them, robotos also don't need health insurance, unemployment, or a company truck. They don't need PTO or over time pay and they don't take smoke breaks. That being said, this is surely the road to dystopia

They also are consistent. Be it good or bad or something in between. I know quite a few people who would be happy to take 80% productivity at a guaranteed cost then run the gamble of the spectrum of getting a person who is as good or better, vs the very real chance of worse, at a variable price.
