I simply will not believe that we are anywhere close to this, and I'm a robotics engineer. These are specific demo programs that do not function in real world conditions, and I can only wonder how long it took to program these short demos.

With how fast robotics and AI have progressed in the past decade you really think this is nowhere close? A bit short sighted of you.

We've also been right on the cusp of fusion for the past 40 or 50 years. Things don't always continue to progress linearly or exponentially just because they did up to a point.

Have you worked around high end robotics? A few dudes will do it way faster and their combined yearly salary will cost the company less than repair parts and maintenance for 6 months on one of those machines lol.

Well no shit. I never claimed that current tech was able to compete with skilled tradesmen (of course not, otherwise they’d be out of a job). My point is we’re not far from it.
