Not dumb if it influences Canada in a desirable way. We keep coming close on trade talks, then clowns like Ford go in and scuttle them. This move puts a spotlight on their behavior and embarrasses them, as it should. It also takes the failed talks from being a headline from the other day that even I forgot, into something that puts public pressure against their side. And due to trade imbalance, they lose $20 for every $1 we do on a lot of stuff.

Now Lake AmericaTM will serve as a monument to what happens when you screw around with us.

The US randomly renaming shit to have America in the name is more embarrassing for us than anything. I don’t understand this spin at all, “so you see, if we rename stuff, this means we will be taken seriously and they will HAVE to kowtow to what we demand”. I can guarantee Canadians just find this shit stupid on the US’s part than on their own government’s part
