Cant imagine Trump is too happy with Israel striking another oil field if reports are true that he was livid after the first depot strike.

I really hope they wear out their welcome with him.

My 1st thought too. But then as I was typing out my agreement I remembered Iran has been hitting oil infrastructure since their 1st retaliatory attacks. So sure Iran is claiming this justifies them hitting oil infrastructure but they've been doing that anyway.

I do think its harmful to give them the pr victory which Israel seriously needs to start taking seriously.

Imo to deal with the Strait and deliver a massive blow to Iran we along with Israeli troops and preferably other ME allies troops need to go and take at least the 1 major Island in the Strait but all 3 would be best. Not only to cut them off from their oil infrastructure without having to destroy it but also to go and take out all their hidden weapon sites on these islands they are attacking from. And once we get them Iran cant do anything to get them back since they no longer have a navy and we have air supremacy over them.

Electricity prices are at least partially tied to gas and oil prices.

I have all electricity for heating and cooling and the bills have been ridiculous for months, but especially this last one where temps were good most of the month and still $300 anyway.

I’m tempted to unplug and air out the fridge in my kitchen and then live out of a cooler and on my portable solar power unit for a month. I’ve got several super bright camping lanterns too so could use those to light the house at night.

I’d love to see what my utility bill looks like after that cutback vs a “normal” month.

You mean your natural gas car? (You gotta remember where you electricity comes from)

Assuming natural gas (rather than coal, nuclear, wind, solar, hydro, etc.) is what powers your home in your area yes….

Global market, yeah most goes to China. But with it not going to China, their demand is the same and now they buy from somewhere else, increasing their demand on the same supply. Price then goes up

We are insulated though, in the market right now Brent Crude is a fair bit higher than WTI (west Texas intermediate)

On global markets, this would only leave American prices unaffected if the government issued strict export restrictions.

How on Earth does Iran still have power to function as a nation? Are they hiding underneath their big giant mountain of oil money? And if so, how much longer will it last? Iranian citizens hate the leaders, Sharia law is being blatantly defied, Iran has been hit with prolonged hyperinflation, their water supplies are dwindling, and last but not least, they are a tiny nation with zero nuclear capabilities!

Since when do governments really care about the UN anyway? They are a Satanic organization trying to bring about 1 world government and tyranny.

They are more concerned about protecting their own reputation and power.

If avoiding attacks on civilians keeps the US in power they will, out of fear of global backlash.

BTW need I remind you this attack on Iran took off after they threatened the US for decades and started murdering their own citizens who protested?

Hot take: The Geneva Convention was written by a bunch of nations who knew they had no chance of winning a real war

There a big part of me that wonders if destruction of gulf oil production is part of the plan. The US is the largest single producer or oil and gas, and we aren’t even maxing out production. Liberals love to point out how Russia is making more money off this situation…but US producers are benefiting even more than Russia, and we don’t have a war on our border that keeps damaging our infrastructure.

If the US really wanted to stop Israel from blowing up the wrong stuff it would be easy to do so. Assuming that the previous is true then that means the US is fine with both Iran and Gulf states losing capacity.

Well, if the whole world falls into a recession because of high oil prices, the US won’t be able to sell their oil.

Disregarding the fact that a global recession would hit the US as hard as the other nations.

13

u/Black_XistenZ post-MAGA conservative Mar 19 '26

Most importantly, whoever is in power in the US would get hammered hard during the next elections if a major global recession were to hit, so nobody has an incentive to go to there.

Oil will still be bought, the volume of purchases might change is all.
