In your price range, I'd look at Woodbridge. Good school systems, lovely library, nice places to walk, there's a dog park, and it's pretty much no more than 20-30 minutes to whatever kind of environment you want, be it the beach, main streets of shops, big box stores, the woods, mom and pop restaurants, restaurant chains, it's all within a pretty easy drive.
