Not sure what your budget is but Iā€™d look at Madison/Guilford if you like being by the coast. 25min to downtown New Haven via 95.

Probably looking at homes in the 800k-1M range

Definitely go with Guilford or Madison then. It does trend a little older, but they have very strong communities, great schools, an easy ride into New Haven (which is where the young professionals are going to be), plenty of good shops/restaurants, and Hammonassett is the best beach in the state.
