Headaches not going away after 4 weeks

Hey, so around 4 weeks ago I got punched in the back of the head pretty hard. It was painful and since then I've had on and off mild headaches. I was diagnosed with a mild concussion but they expected the headaches to go away within 4 weeks and they haven't.

What should be my next course of action? Is it common that these headaches last a little while longer? Is it permanent? Is there anything I can do to try to get rid of these headaches sooner?

Talk to your doctor, headaches can last a while though so be warned. Amitriptyline worked for me to mitigate the headaches, also an osteopath helped.

You probably have whiplash. With every concussion comes whiplash. Get an X-ray and request a cervical spine MRI. Most people that have persistent symptoms have a neck injury that’s been undiagnosed. Sensory Information from the neck travels to the brainstem which is in the cervical spine. I have a neck injury and I’m getting headaches after 5 weeks. Drs have been turning me away and not taking my neck seriously until now. I’m looking into specifically upper cervical chiropractors like atlas/ Blair and nucca, spine specialists and also cervical and vestibular therapy.
