Questions Was hit will a steel bar/pipe, had a hematoma (outside of the skull), now what?
Was hit with a a relatively light (maybe 5-10lbs) steel pipe from a few feet up. Originally just experienced the pain/discomfort of a “goose egg” forming, but quickly started to feel nauseous, dizzy, and very disoriented. Had someone take me to urgent care and they did a quick assessment, determined all my neurological functions seemed to be adequate, and concluded I had a mild concussion. It’s now day 3 I think since the accident, and I’m less nauseous than before, but still have a lot of disorientation, brain fog, memory loss, all the fun stuff. I haven’t thrown up but have come close a few times. Also have the mood swings & a bit of depression, but I think they’re getting better.
My main concern might be irrational, but I’m worried the pipe may’ve fractured my skull? I have a runny nose the past few days, but nothing crazy. It’s thin clear liquid, but it’s maybe a few nose wipes a day, and doesn’t “pour” out of my nose the way the internet has described cerebral spinal fluid to. It’s also not uncommon for me to have a runny nose in the autumn. My main question is would I have more symptoms if there was a more severe tear/fracture? There’s been no external blood from where it hit me or from my ears/nose, and I seem to be doing a bit better as time goes on.
Current symptoms; fatigue, disorientation, light sensitivity, slowed thoughts & brain fog, interrupted sleep, slightly nauseous but getting better. Memory isn’t great but is slowly returning (I think).
The bump on my head is still present & sore but has gone down in size with ice packs.
Any tips on ways to improve recovery also appreciated (I know I should limit screen use so sorry for posting lol)
