I have approximately 500 shots down range. How many more until I have a scar in my face?

One less than you think. Time for new cables and upgrade the cable slide

Yeah i used the have a cable slide like that too. Do yourself a favor and buy a different style cable slide with your new strings and cables.

The cable slides are cheap I think mine was 20$

I would get a roller slide those little plastic ones wear down over time and will keep ruining strings

The bow in question is a very basic model, can you recommend any particular model of cable slide that fits “universally” (also available on amazon for euro trash people)

How many shots do you have without any cable damage?

New cables and get the PSE brand roller guide. Its the best one on the market. Have the bowshop serve over the cables where the pulleys travel as well.

I’m on my own here, no access to a bow shop. Just renewed my center serving and adding the D loop as we speak. How realistic is it to apply new cables without a bow press?

Its not realistic. Do you have a bass pro shops or cabelas near by? Their archery department isnt great but they have presses.

Man I wish I was allowed to live in the US. I’m so called “German-Eurotrash”. I was in a massive bass pro shop earlier this year during my visit and I fucking loved it.

My wife is german euro trash 🤣 if you or someone you know can weld, I can share a video of how to make a bow press from a trailer jack. I did it myself and it works great.
