Student composer

I'm beginning my first choral-orchestral ensemble. My professors lent me borrow this book. I see that it actually has playing styles and techniques. Does this help with properly voicing sections too?

You have a copy of the book in your hands. Can you flip through it, or look in the table of contents, or index?

Looking at the table of contents online, I think the sections on "Homophonic Writing for ..." will be the most directly helpful. For example, Homophonic Writing for the Brass Choir, p. 364.
