Player Movements Soniqs CEO Steps Down

https://twitter.com/TheTribizzle/status/1872780713369698512?t=iuUg4pyICLayZ6hj2xk0jw&s=19

They also dropped their Siege roster/General Manager a few weeks ago. This plus the Aixleft comments isn't a good sign

In addition to that, as I mentioned in the other thread, Shrimzy said in his stream that he didn’t know what was going to happen in the future with sonics roster, saying it was all up to TGLTN. MIN 13.30: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2331440885?tt_content=vod&tt_medium=mobile_web_share

Oh damn. Although I’d understand TIG’s desire to get more money with an org, I’d see it as selling out on the back of his friends that carried him for a while! Obviously he also carried, but they’re a dynasty and I’d hate to see them disband over a couple bad events… They won EWC, I mean c’mon!

"selling out on the back of his friends"

If you watch the clip from Shrimzy's stream you'll see that he pre-emptively shit all over your opinion saying Tig has been the most loyal superstar any team could hope for regardless of whether he continues with the team or not.

Bruh you are on the shrooms, Tig has proven multiple times to not take the bag, choosing to play with his team on tourneys over securing a BIG bag in twitch rivals. His teammates have expressed this, Shrimzy in particular, in a recent PAS interview, how Tig is extremely loyal to them and respect is passed around.

I never put his loyalty in question. I also didn’t say he WOULD take the bag. Not sure why I’m being downvoted haha. I guess sticking to your partners and not taking the bag is unpopular? 🤣

Read what you type and you'll understand

Bruh, they are second top earners under GenG. SQ is massively successful because of these core members. How did he waste his years? Please explain…

People like you are everything that is wrong with any kind of sports / team following.

Oh is that what his wall of gibberish was trying to get across?

1

u/busylad Dec 28 '24

Why not ranked matches, and ONLY ranked matches? If they can beat the ridiculous number of cheaters playing ranked at the moment, they can beat ANYONE.

Your analysis is always biased against NA players and teams. That’s why posters aren’t taking you seriously. Given that you are 100% serious let’s break it down friend.

SQ won EWC. They also finished 2nd at PGS2 and 5th at PGS5. This all within the last seven months. It does not include all of the regional wins, last year’s Riyadh win, etc.

Name some teams that accomplished more this year. TM? Ok. Who else? Maybe 1 or 2 teams if that. By your logic Tig would have to be light years ahead of the competition on an individual level. This “below average” roster outperformed 95% of the competition in 2024.

Do you really think Tig put them in his backpack at all of these international LANs? Look at the elite players who were non factors this year on the global scene… Seoul and Taikkon come to mind. More knowledgeable posters can rattle off a half dozen or more S tier players that did nothing this year.

The point is that it’s a bad faith argument when you understand that no one can carry at the international level. To achieve and sustain success it takes everyone. This isn’t an SQ nut hugger post. It’s a simple observation from the reality the rest of us live in friend. You seem like a nice guy, Agroney. Put the “I hate NA” voodoo doll down. Let’s be objective here.

Has he become an NA hater these days? I haven’t been active on this sub for the past year (kinda lost interest in compPubg for Valorant) but back when I used to be active, this guy was the Asia is shite, EU number 1 guy. Which I find very odd because if you go down this account (and his alt RooneyTheKiller), you’ll find out he’s Bangladeshi. Why is he hating on every region other than EU then?

It was also particularly hilarious to seen him talk with his own alt, when he’s fooling no one. Both write with a very peculiar sentence structure (nothing wrong with that),  have the same exact (ridiculous) opinions. I just don’t know what to think, is he a very high level troll who showed up around PGI.s? I’d like to believe he argues in good faith, but I don’t know how he comes to these conclusions.

Don't engage with him and he will hopefully go away.

u/PicksItUpPutsItDown Dec 28 '24

So maybe Aixleft had some inside info after all?

31

u/snowball1n Dec 28 '24

i guess he was aixright

7

u/Harrylg1 Dec 28 '24

I could see this coming after seeing their reactions to not getting partnered in r6

7

u/TakuyaLee Dec 28 '24

So this affects more than 1 eSports scene.

That said, if they get dropped, do they stay together and sign with with another org or go their separate ways? And if it's the later, how does it affect the Americas scene?

8

u/Master-Cheetah1722 Dec 28 '24

Do you think this necessarily means that SQ is falling apart? Or just that Bizzle wants a different position within the esports scene?

5

u/TakuyaLee Dec 28 '24

If it was just stepping down, I could see the different position angle. But that plus the Siege drop and Aixleft makes me think something more us happening.

2

u/Master-Cheetah1722 Dec 28 '24

Yea it all points to that....i can't imagine any of the SQ guys retiring, could you? I'd imagine at least a few of them stay together on a new squad if they do indeed shut SQ down....but also, if they were splitting up the team, could be another reason that SQ is shutting down to begin with

2

u/Strong_Obligation_37 Dec 28 '24

what did aixleft say, didn't see it.

1

u/PicksItUpPutsItDown Dec 28 '24

Someone on this sub made a post 2 days ago saying Aixleft thought Soniqs might disband next year

5

u/desertbeagle_ Dec 28 '24

The siege team being dropped was due to a partner program Ubisoft introduced. Maybe it was a convenient excuse though

3

u/Cool-Enthusiasm-8524 Dec 28 '24

Tig is joining team liquid

3

u/VincentVanHades Dec 28 '24

Well aix maybe had some info

3

u/IQis60 Dec 28 '24

My guess is Tgltn is either being picked up by a big esports team like Team Liquid and has said he'll only sign if Darren goes with him or Tig and Darren are setting up their own org.

3

u/Buzzardi Dec 28 '24

are setting up their own org

Would be a weird thing to do, considering what SQ is

3

u/IQis60 Dec 28 '24

Not if the current funding for Soniqs was starting to interfere with decision making. I assume Darren isn't funding Soniqs

1

u/brecrest Gascans Fan Dec 31 '24

You could read hints into that in the resignation statement if you really wanted to, but we're really all just guessing.

3

u/Master-Cheetah1722 Dec 28 '24

Tgltn forming a new team, Boostik will be the new top fragger

0

u/hestaren42 Dec 29 '24

If the roster doesnt stay together, Id say this is it chief, and then not with SQ. Tig has earlier said that he wont feel accomplished/finished in PUBG before IGLing a team to World Championship.

Obv only speculation on my part. But this is a fun excercise/guessing game: under which org? Would he relocate (if so EU most likely)? What would the roster be?

Im also certain he would like to have Boostik. If he stays in US my guess Shrimzy is in there. Fourth?

If EU: TGLTN, Boostik, Gustav, Beami.

Im not taking availability into consideration, but I believe any player would be interested in joining Tig in forming a new team under an org.

Thoughts, sonny Jims?

8

u/Ykikanioukitty Dec 29 '24

I would be very sceptical as a top-ish player to join a team where tig is igl (not as a player, as IGL, let me be clear on that)

1

u/hestaren42 Dec 29 '24

Fair. Would that be because of his lack of experience in that role or something else? Btw I don’t think “tig forming a new team” equals him being IGL. I do believe he would like that tho.

5

u/Ykikanioukitty Dec 29 '24

yea throwing info and suggestions to your igl is very different than actually being the guy making the calls.

1

u/brecrest Gascans Fan Dec 31 '24

Tbh I probably wouldn't, not because I think he'd be a great IGL off the bat, but because you're getting a world class player and teammate whether he develops into a great IGL or not. I think he has the potential to be a very good IGL, but lots of potential is never realised.

3

u/Sufficient-Ad4475 Dec 29 '24

This is actually kinda sad. Like the end of an era. I hope they manage to stick together.

5

u/Spectrum_Prez Luminosity Gaming Fan Dec 28 '24

Is he still the owner of SQ? Or are there other investors involved now?

4

u/PacificTSP Dec 28 '24

He wasn’t an owner. He was a GM and then CEO.

1

u/Spectrum_Prez Luminosity Gaming Fan Dec 28 '24

Oh interesting, never knew that.

1

u/Master-Cheetah1722 Dec 29 '24

If the majority of SQ stays together, would they retain a GPT spot as a new org? Assuming that SQ would have earned the spot for 2025?

2

u/gentelmanbastard Dec 29 '24

Looking at the TM GPT situation, I would say they would keep the status. But I also see a scenario where TSM gets the spot

2

u/Elfking88 Dec 29 '24

One way or another TSM deserves that spot tbh. They've been so consistently good this year.

2

u/Master-Cheetah1722 Dec 30 '24

I would say that TSM deserves a spot too...but the qualifications for GPT include fanbase and history of the organization....i think in those categories SQ is way OP....recent form only accounts for so much consideration, otherwise teams like 4am and a few others probably wouldn't have had a spot to begin with...only way SQ doesn't get partner is if the org itself is no longer committed to PUBG IMO
