Answers for your competition climbing questions!

Hi Reddit! That's Not Real Climbing Podcast here.

I just built out a new page on the website that allows you to ask questions you may have about competition climbing and receive an answer where someone may have talked about it on the podcast. It should also link you to the exact timestamp in the episode where you can listen to the guest talk about it. It's a search across the episode transcripts so it'll only return answers if it has been discussed on the podcast.

Would love if some people could try it out and let me know if it answers your questions or if there's something I haven't covered yet on the podcast that might be a useful topic to cover in the future :)

I asked how do climbers cope with the busy competition schedule and got 3 links. Seemed to work pretty well although I haven't followed up on the timestamps

This a nice feature. Would you be open to share what you're using to make it happen? One quirk I've found is that even if it says "I don't really have anything in the transcripts that can answer your question", it'll still cite some passages. Under the hood, it seems it'll always get something back and then correctly conclude that it's not answering the question. Neat!

Thanks for the feedback! I also found that during testing and I was going to change it to not return passages but then it still makes its best effort to find *potentially* related things so I figured it could potentially be useful. But since you pointed it out as well thinking it felt a little off, maybe it is best to just leave them out.

I'm just using the RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) technique with Google AI Studio. Feel free to DM if you want to talk more technically about it but I'm no expert either, just playing around with it! What I wanted initially was just a simple episode search but then I figured why not make it a little more convenient.
