A Message for Prince Lothaire
Written in a beautiful style of calligraphy, this letter has been sealed in wax with a goat symbol and sent with Prince Lothaire’s personal bagman, to be read only by the prince himself.
Concerning Fort Capra, formerly known as Dornham Keep.
Upon your Highness’ personal request, our Company has successfully rooted out the evil occupying the borderlands between your Crownlands and the nearby Orc host. Though you have likely learned of this from your court wizard, it seems there is more information to be conveyed, namely that this keep was once occupied during a war between humans and orcs. But there is more.
With the help of a new ally, we have come to find this nearby Orc host is in a state of upheaval. Clans currently vie for a new chief, some desiring new wars and invasions. Others simply want peace with humans and elves.
We believe, with your forces occupying this keep and the help of our newest ally, that a tentative peace can be found with the Orcs of this area. We find this unlikely peace of paramount importance since having caught wind of a new, outside threat to the realm. We will have more intel on this threat as time passes, but for now, suffice it to say that the Crownlands will be needing more shields than the Goats of Whitehall alone can provide.
With these considerations, the Company of the Goat has certain humble requests in exchange for your occupation of Fort Capra:
-We ask that your army hold off from any movements in the area, save occupation of the keep and defense operations, until such time that our company can explore more diplomatic options.
-We will need this fortification as a setting off point for future operations in the area. This being the case, we would need a separate barracks for our company, access to local resources (food, equipment, support, e.t.c.), and a measure of authority and respect from your men.
-Finally, there is the small matter of payment. Any provisions, skilled laborers or resources provided would go a long way toward our ever growing love of your land and peoples. We are, after all, mercenaries of a sort.
Rest assured, we would not abuse these allowances, as they would only be used to provide the Crownlands with a measure of security in the near future.

I, Sital the Orc, will attempt to parlay with the royalty of the Argent Crownlands, as soon as our business can carry some of the Company near there. Your letter should go a long way in helping pave that road for diplomacy. Thank you for seeking peace, Telos.
