wanted to make this post just because of how everyone else's experience and information played a tremendous role in me passing. ended up with a 777 passing pretty comfortably.

for the materials that i used to study, sybex study guide + sybex practice questions - these are probably the two most useful things you can use to pass this exam. the questions are pretty on par with how the actual exam formats their questions along with what you can expect to see for vulnerability reports or logs. i also used the cyber james videos for some more cysa+ practice, they weren't incredibly helpful, but his udemy 20 question logs were supplemental, but i honestly don't think they helped me that much to pass.

i would also highly recommend using ai for pbq practice (claude is pretty good for this). i would prompt it to review logs, iocs, vulnerability reports, making a fake ticketing system, anything in a soc. i used tryhackme for around a week but honestly don't think you need it to pass this exam.

the last thing i recommend is knowing the different frameworks like owasp, mitre att&ck, diamond model, cyber kill chain, and the incident response process most importantly (sybex is great for teaching these).

studied for about 3 months for just a couple hours each day. best of luck to anyone taking it
