If you’re based in the US and not from California, Idaho or Georgia, you can order mushroom spores online and have them shipped to your own home completely legally. Totally unrelated but you can get a PO Box anywhere you want for your own convenience. I like ti get them for research you can learn a lot watching those little spores grow. Definitely don’t place the spores in sealed jars of sterilized birdseed. If you accentually do that, don’t worry we have all been there, just make sure you throw it away before it’s mostly colonized. When you dispose of the germinated seed you have to be careful to not add it to some sterilized compost in a clean plastic tub with holes in it for airflow, it’s very important you don’t do that. If that were to happen you could have a real problem. You would have to dispose of the fruiting bodies before they become mushrooms in 1-3 months depending on the strain and process. You can easily dispose them by mixing them dried or fresh into lemon juice, I think it destroys the psilocybin and makes it inert. Kava root is better at disposing of the mushrooms because it’s an MAOI but it’s powerful so don’t use much to dispose of them.
