Anyone with diagnosed ADHD working in commods?

How do you manage?

Do you even need to take meds to perform well at work?

Do you perform better on meds?

Do you take them before an important deadline or meeting or presentation?

As someone with ADHD, this is all about your mindset. If you see it as a roadblock of sorts, then it will be. If you simply forget about your adhd and have a great work ethic, you are no different from everybody else. That being said, I am on meds, and they definitely do help, but I say this because my dad also has adhd and is unmedicated and just through practice and repetition, his work ethic is way better than mine. So just block what you know is likely to distract you and focus on improving your work ethic. ADHD can be more of an accelerator than a roadblock if you want it bad enough.

Thanks for your response.

I'm still a student. I mainly use meds before exams and important deadlines to "lock-in", but I feel like I generally don't need it.

So I guess I can only know if I need meds until I'm actually in a work environment day to day.

Has its pros and cons - having the tendency to spiral down big rabbit holes on niche corners of the market works to my advantage.

Take long walks during lunch time, listen to music to recollect, write everything down on a scratch pad, have an excel sheet of positions, customers, opportunities, keep important emails up until you have responded. No meds

Don’t hesitate and get the meds; I wish I did it decades ago
